Walking factory tour...

Following the route of the raw materials, our guided 90-mins walking tour will take you through our production processes, all the way to the final product.

Our site runs 24 / 7, 365 days of the year. As you’ll be seeing all our processes in action, we ask that you please pay attention to the following:

  • Wear suitable footwear (flat, sensible, non-slip and enclosed toe shoes or boots)
  • The tour is a running commentary provided via. headsets
  • The tour is approx. 1.5 miles and involves a number of flights of stairs
  • Unfortunately you cannot take part in the tour if you have a pacemaker
  • Min. age is 12yrs old. All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Harvesting Simulator

Experience it for yourself...

We will have a harvesting simulator which is available for you to experience the types of work that goes on and understand the processes behind it. You can also see a real John Deere harvester and forwarded in action on the day.

Climbing Wall

How high can you climb?

Test out your skills on the 18ft climbing wall! Don’t worry - there will be experienced, fully trained climbing staff on hand to make each event great and safe for all those taking part.

Land train

Climb aboard...

With no age restrictions, this 15-mins tour will take you round our site to find out about our production process. All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult and you will remain on the train at all times.

Chainsaw artist

Live demonstrations...

Come along to the live demonstrations and see how this small family based firm produces a range of different chainsaw carvings.

Live Music

Entertainment for all...

The 'Purple Supper Band' will be entertaining everyone with popular music covers – including Rock 'n' Roll, modern Pop, Soul, Disco, and pretty much everything in between.

Children's activities

Get creative...

We will have an area where you and your family can take part in craft activities and get your face painted. Look forward to lots of fun and laughter!


Fuel up on food and drink...

There will be authentic German sausages, fluffy candy floss, ice-cream, tasty coffee and a range of cold drinks to keep you fuelled up for the day.

Directions and parking

Where to park

Parking will be in the employee car park opposite the main site, road marshals will be on hand to guide you.

Please be advised that there will be a large number of people attending the event and there is limited car parking. We please ask can all visitors car share where possible or use alternative means to arrive at the site.

  1. Impregnation lines

    Vits 1 2011 and Vits 2 2015

    Higher quantities and improved the quality of impregnated paper
    New automated loading racks reduce risk of damage
    Increased speed = impregnate heavier papers without losing significant time

  2. Lamination - E line


    5th lamination line provides capacity for future customer growth of our customers, improves efficiency and flexibility
    Produces deeper textures - latest investment ST37 & ST38 (Feelwood textures)
    Produces multi layer constructions & synchronised pore textures
    From spring 2018 – investing in camera technology double-sided synchronised pore.

  3. Warehousing

    January 2016

    The new warehouse provides extra capacity and has 5 loading bays so allows quicker turn arounds for transport - improving logistics and material flow.

  4. Tongue & Groove line

    November 2016

    Produces - EGGER P5, EGGER Protect, EGGER Peel Clean Xtra, caravan panels, master panels and ripcuts.
    Investment in the new line utilises the very latest technology to boost productivity and give us the capability to further secure supply to the UK market for many years to come.

  5. Lamination - B line

    April 2017

    Secure capacity, as new line is designed for volume and provides reliable production.
    At 27 years old the old B line went through 40 million cycles, which is the equivalent to 2.8 million m3.

  6. Mechandising area


    Increased storage for New Collection laminates, edging, upstands and splashbacks.
    Improving logistics and amount of stock (to benefit customers)
    Electric machinery to reduce pollution

Here we can see how the investments since 2011 have improved the Hexham plant.

product – a closed cycle

We stand for the responsible use of the raw material wood.

Like in nature, we also organise our processes in cycles that conserve resources. Our focus is on our closed material cycle.
